RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO UPDATE YOUR LOCAL 4-H WEBPAGES USING THE LIFE’S LITTLE QUESTIONS RECRUITMENT CAMPAIGN
Our market research shows that Mom’s not familiar with 4-H,
search for 4-H information on the internet. She expects to find information
with a minimal number of clicks. We’ve designed a local 4-H website template
and instructional webinar to help you update your local 4-H website using the
Life’s Little Questions recruitment campaign elements.
We've created all the pages you'll need, complete with
wording and graphics. Learn how to cut and paste the various pages onto your
own site, then add your local contact information. We've designed it to be
simple, yet have the flexibility you’ll need.

SPACETECH CAMPS, RESOURCES AND OPPORTUNITIES
2013 GEAR-Tech-21 Camp Opportunities:
In 2013, GEAR-Tech-21 camps will take place
across the USA. Camps include
GEAR-Tech-21 robotics, GPS and GIS activities including robotics building and
programming challenges, geocaching making a local map and more. Because camps will be led by local volunteers
and camp staff, each camp will have unique opportunities including traditional
camp activities, local speakers and maybe even field trips. Generally camps are open to youth aged 10-14,
though individual camps may have specific age requirements. Some camps are currently full, but registrations
will be taken until camps are full. To
learn more about the specific camps, visit the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
4-H camp listings and camp contacts web site at: http://4hset.unl.edu/4hdrupal/node/109.

B.A.S.S. HIGH SCHOOL NATION PROGRAM
The B.A.S.S. High School Nation is designed to be an after school, club based program affiliated with your local high school. BHSN clubs form their own by-laws, elect their own officers, hold their own meetings and/or tournaments etc. Once a BHSN club is formed, two high school aged youth team up with an adult boater/coach. These teams can then compete in the Kansas BHSN State Championship where the State Champion Team and the runner-up team can both advance to the B.A.S.S. High School Nation National Championship.
All the information and documentation needed to establish a BHSN club can be found at www.bassmaster.com/highschool. It only takes two B.A.S.S. members to form a BHSN club; but for those who find a high school club cannot be formed, we have options available to form non-high school clubs.
Once you have looked over the information and decided you're ready to start a BHSN club, contact us at www.ksbassnation.com and let us know your plans. If needed we can find answers to questions, get you and/or your school more information, or possibly even speak to your school officials. To help kick start the program, the Kansas B.A.S.S. Nation is planning a Youth 2angler team tournament for September 8, 2013, site to be announced. This team tournament will be open to youth 13 to 18 and you won't need to be a member of any organization or club. As more information becomes available, we’ll post it at www.ksbassnation.com. So:
1. Find a bass fishing buddy. 2. Find an adult boater and boat. 3. Let’s go fishing!

KANSAS 4-H ENVIRONMENTAL LEADERSHIP CAMP
In the United States, children ages 6-11 spend about thirty hours a week looking at a TV or computer monitor. 11-18 year olds spend 45 hours a week plugged in. Let's unplug this summer and spend some quality time outside! This camp aims to create awareness and understanding of environmental issues that will lead to responsible individual and group actions. Register for this camp and receive quality environmental education from trained facilitator educators to study ecosystems, conservation of natural resources, plant and animal diversity. Hear from guest speakers, experts in the areas of raptors, forestry, wildlife and aquatics, plus get to participate in the traditional camp activities of archery, canoes, swimming and campfires. Meet new friends from all over the state interested in natural resources and the environment and complete a service project and learn how to start one in your own community.
This camp is open to all youth 10-14 years of age. Non 4-H'ers are encouraged to register.
This camp would serve to benefit 4-H'ers involved in or wanting to learn more about the following projects: wildlife, entomology, plant science, Energy Management, Environmental Science, Citizenship and Self-Determined.
When: Monday, August 5, 2013 - Friday, August 9, 2013 9:00 AM - 1:30 PM Central Time
