K-State Junior Swine Producer Day Registration Deadline Approaching

Submitted by Lexie Hayes

The deadline to register for the 2025 K-State Junior Swine Producer Day is quickly approaching! It will be hosted Saturday, March 1, at the Stanley Stout Center, north of the K-State campus in Manhattan. The deadline to register is February 5.

K-State Junior Swine Producer Day is a one‐day educational event for families to learn more about the selection and management of their swine projects. Youth, adults, extension agents, project leaders, and volunteers of all ages and skill levels are invited to attend! Presentations will be provided by K‐State faculty, staff, students, extension agents, former exhibitors, and guest speakers. Topics range from selection, to nutrition, facilities and equipment, health, clipping and grooming, and showmanship. This is a family learning event! Everyone who plans to attend must register, including both youth and adults. The cost is $20/person by February 5, or $25 after the deadline for both events. Only those who register by February 5 will receive a t‐shirt. The event will also be capped at 400 participants. Junior Producer Day event registrations are non-refundable.

An optional YQCA instructor‐led training and state livestock nomination session will be offered at the end of the program. Specific details about the YQCA certification will be shared with those who indicate on their registration that they plan to stay for the class. Additionally, any high school student who would like to participate in a campus visit on the Friday prior junior swine producer day is asked to indicate that on their registration.
