Kansas 4-H Dog Care and Training News
1. Just a reminder that 4-H members in order to participate in the 2015 Kansas State Fair 4-H Dog Show, in Hutchinson, on Saturday, September 19th, must have qualified in a specific discipline(s) at a state qualifier 4-H or open dog show during the 2014-15 4-H year. The disciplines are showmanship, obedience, agility and rally obedience. Most of these qualifier dog shows happen during county fairs or invitational dog shows during spring and summer.
2. Last call for the Kansas 4-H Dog Conference logo design contest. The Kansas 4-H Dog Action Team is inviting all 4-H dog members to submit their ideas for the Kansas 4-H Dog Conference logo design contest. The 2015 theme is “All About that Dog!” Designs must reflect theme and be submitted electronically in a .jpg format. Do not submit designs as a .pdf. The winning logo design with modifications will be used for promotional efforts including t-shirts. The winner must redeem the complimentary registration for the 2015 Kansas 4-H Dog Conference. There is no cash value. Entries must be received electronically by Monday, August 31st. Questions may be directed to dwaldren@ksu.edu, 785-462-6281.
3. 2016 Kansas 4-H Dog Judges’ Certification is scheduled January 29-31, tentatively in the Meadowlark District – Seneca Office (Nemaha County). Full registration details will be posted to the Kansas 4-H web site by November 15th.
