Kansas Volunteer Forum
The Kansas Volunteer Forum continues to be a part of the Kansas 4-H Leadership Weekend. The Volunteer Forum has a new format this year. The Kansas Leadership Center staff will be the main presentation at the KVF.
The program is sponsored by the Kansas 4-H Foundation. In addition, the Foundation recognizes that this concept takes practice and experimentation so volunteers will be invited to continue learning about KLC throughout 2016. Monthly sessions will be available to volunteers with no registration or training fee through the generosity of Kansas 4-H donors and the direction of the Kansas 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees.
Kansas Leadership Center staff will share the KLC core curriculum that equips people with the ability to make lasting change for the common good. KLC is different in the field of leadership development with its focus on leadership as an activity, not a role or position. KLC envisions more Kansans sharing responsibility for acting together in pursuit of the common good. Come learn how these principles can help move the work of Kansas 4-H forward.
KLC Principles:
- Leadership is an activity, not a particular role or position.
- Anyone can lead, anytime, anywhere.
- It starts with you and must engage others.
- Your purpose must be clear.
- It’s risky.
KLC Competencies:
- Diagnose Situation
- Manage Self
- Intervene Skillfully
- Energize Others
Online Registration is available now. This year participants in both the Volunteer Forum and Kansas Youth Leadership Froum will register though the same system under the title Kansas 4-H Leadership Weekend. Registration deadline is October 15, 2015 for both events. Register here: http://www.kansas4-h.org/p.aspx?tabid=317
