Kansas AYP Students Selected for National Recognition
Kansas Academic Year Exchange Students were selected for recognition by States’ 4-H International Exchange Programs and the U. S. Department of State’s Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) in November. Daria Pieczynska, 4-H FLEX student at White City High School is part of Flint Hills District 4-H while living with the Jason and Rocky Beck family, represented FLEX students at the States’ 4-H Annual Conference November 7-10 in Denver. Daria made a presentation and shared a cultural activity and display of her Polish culture at the conference.
Liza Borysenko, FLEX student at Chapman High school is part of Geary County 4-H, while living with the Ron and Kristie Moon family. Liza, a high school student from Ukraine, was named the FLEX Student of the Month for November 2018 by the U. S. State Department’s Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs. Liza was selected her school and community involvement, volunteerism, and efforts to share her culture. She is the first 4-H FLEX student to be selected in several years. They are both teaching a workshop at Kansas Youth Leadership Forum.
