March 1 Deadline for Hosting Norwegian and Costa Rican 4-H'ers
Families wishing to host a Norwegian or Costa Rican teen 4-H’er or one of their chaperones through the States’ 4-H International Exchange Program should complete the on line application by March 1, 2019. These applications may be accessed through the Kansas 4-H web site on a link titled “2019 Electronic Host Family Application Process Link” at this page: https://www.kansas4-h.org/events-activities/global-citizenship/host-family-information/. If families have hosted previously through a States’ 4-H Exchange, they may be able to update just the fields needed without re-entering previous information. This process continues to be available for those wishing to host a Japanese youth or chaperone in 2019. Applicants will be contacted by the state coordinator to complete the placement process.
Applications are still accepted for Kansas 4-H International 4-H Youth Exchange and IFYE using the fillable PDF form found on the same page noted above farther down on the page. Both of these exchange options will be seeking applications until all inbounds are placed, but early applications have a wider choice of exchangee and hosting times.
Families who would like to host high school students during the next school year should make contact with Mary Kay Munson, state coordinator, to discuss this option and how to apply. Student portfolios for the 2019-20 academic year are now available.
