2020 Kansas 4-H State Wheat Expo in Wichita
Join us for the 2020 Kansas 4-H Wheat Expo. The 2020 wheat expo will be Kansas 4-H’s first face-to-face state 4-H event since COVID-19 shut down physical/face-to-face 4-H programming in March. We are excited to bring the wheat expo back for a fun, educational and hands-on program in person for all Kansas 4-H members, siblings, parents, grandparents, and KSRE Extension staff.
The Kansas 4-H State Wheat Expo is a wheat fun day showcasing all things wheat. Join us for the annual event on Wednesday, August 6th from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Sedgwick County Extension Center, 7001 West 21st St. North, Wichita, KS 67205. There will be eight contests open to youth members with cash prizes and ribbons awarded. Participants will pick one of the two tours. 1. Tortilla-In-A-Bag Activity - Jodi Drake, Extension Agent, FCS in Pratt County will lead youth-focused experiences to learn how to make home-made tortillas and other food activities at the Sedgwick County Extension Center. Adults may also sign up for this tour. 2. Cargill Cares Food Bank – Get a behind the scenes look at how Kansas’ largest and local food bank works. Part of the experience will be to volunteer and help sort food for those in need.
There is a $6.00 per person registration cost using the CVent registration system. Registration is currently live. Visit: http://www.kansas4-h.org/events/index.html. Pre-registration will be required by Sunday, July 26th, 11:59 p.m. to ensure an accurate meal count and for tour divisions. For more information about the wheat expo, visit:
