Thank You, I Wish You Well.
Thank you Kansas 4-H and KSRE. It has been a great past 5 years creating sparks, growing life skills, expanding partnerships to grow access and opportunity for all youth across our great state through 4-H.
I have labored and loved the mission of Kansas 4-H youth development as state 4-H program leader. Advocating for Kansas youth is an honor and a privilege. It is time for me to step forward professionally to continue youth advocacy, now in the college campus context that defined the first 14 years of my professional career.
I will be transitioning work places at K-State over the next week (cleaning out my Umberger office by Friday April 1). I will take a couple weeks off and then begin working with the Office of Student Life under the direction of Dr. Thomas Lane, Vice President of Student Life.
Thank you to all those in Kansas 4-H who have made this journey remarkable. To you, I am grateful for your partnership in this very important work with young people. Positive youth development is Extension work and 4-H should continue to strive to put the latest science into practice in local communities. Why, because it betters kids and their communities! Keep moving the 4-H youth development mission forward my friends.
I look forward to the next step in this life's journey. And if you're on campus, feel free to stop by and say "hello."
