Chaperones Applicants Welcomed for States’ 4-H Exchanges

Applications are open now for adults 21 and older to serve as chaperones with 4-H youth traveling to one of five countries during exchanges. 
The exchanges and dates are as follows:

Costa Rica—June 26-July 23

Japan 8-week—June 11-August 6

Japan 4-week—July 9-August 6

Taiwan—July 9-August 6

South Korea—July 16-August 13

Argentina--July 12-August 2

Except for group travel and orientation periods, chaperones will have one or more host families and communicate with the youth members remotely during the exchange.  They also have communication responsibilities for the group.  They pay a reduced fee.

Applications will be processed by and chaperones selected by States’ 4-H International Exchange Programs (States’ 4-H) at the national level.  Kansas applications are encouraged to be submitted by November 1, so applicants may participate in interviews, required for Kansas youth applicants, that will be conducted at Junction City on November 23, 2025.
