eXtension Learning Modules: 4-H Common Measures and 4-H Lesson Study: Making Data Driven Decisions
This online learning course, composed of 8 modules, was developed with eXtension to build capacity of 4-H Youth Development professionals in using data collection tools from Common Measures (https://4-h.org/professionals/common-measures/) to better inform your program decisions.
Opportunity:
• The modules will introduce participants to the tools of both Common Measures 2.0 and 4-H Lesson Study and offer an opportunity for free, self-guided professional development that they can do anywhere and at any time convenient to their busy schedules!
• If staff participate in all eight modules and successfully complete the embedded assessments they will receive certification in CM2.0 and Lesson Study.
Incentive:
All who sign into eXtension and complete Common Measures module #1 through August 31 are included in a drawing for a National Youth Science Day kit (https://4-h.org/parents/national-youth-science-day/) on Coding! Everyone who has completed the learning module to date by logging into eXtension is also eligible. Odds of receiving a kit are excellent…about 1 in 3 as 900 kits will be given away.
What I am Asking:
As we all are growing our professional competencies around evaluation, this opportunity is a great.
Log into eXtension and watch the first module of the series. This will take approximately 10 minutes of your time and then you decide what future modules are of interest to them.
The online modules are available via eXtension to all staff from Kansas State University and if staff don’t already have an eXtension log-in, they can follow these instructions to set up an account:
1. Go to https://campus.extension.org/
2. The login pane is on the left hand side of the screen. Enter existing login credentials or choose “Create New account”
3. Click on “My Courses” on the navigation ribbon at the top of the page
4. Choose “4-H Common Measures and Lesson Study” or https://campus.extension.org/course/view.php?id=1491
5. Scroll down to Module 1 and choose “Click to View Module 1”
I am very excited about how these tools will benefit local 4-H Programs as we move forward together.
Thanks for being an active participant in growing evaluation competencies in Kansas 4-H!
Respectfully,
Wade
