4-H Growing More in 2024 – New 4-H Year Kick Off
In January, your Kansas 4-H State Team picked the word Hope as our word of the year. In the last six months, we have strived to help move Kansas 4-H forward, one baby step at a time. We have made steps towards consistency and are hopeful to keep moving forward in the right direction. Of course, we have had hiccups along the way, and we are thankful for your patience as we navigated them (and continue to do so in some cases). We are not losing sight of our goals. We are lessening the temporary fixes and moving towards more consistent and sustainable ways of doing things.
In the spirit of moving things forward and planning ahead, your Kansas 4-H State Team has been working hard to have things ready to kick off the new 4-H year. We know going into county fair season, this is not the first thing that comes to your mind. However, we want to make sure when you are done wrapping up your county fair, you will have the information you need to begin making plans for the 2023-2024 4-H Year.
Please save Tuesday, August 29, from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. to join us as we share the items you will need to prepare your local extension unit for the new 4-H year. Don’t worry, we will have a break built into this meeting as no one likes to sit in a meeting for two hours straight and not have a break! Watch for items in your local Extension unit/county packet for you to have during this kick-off in the month of August. We hope you will join us as we discuss 4-H Growing More in 2024. A calendar invite will be sent at a later date.
As always, I want you to know my door is always open. I am happy to discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly. The only way for us to live by our 4-H motto is to discuss the hard things. While it will be uncomfortable, it is an opportunity for growth and for us to move forward.
Wishing everyone a safe and successful county fair season!
