Workshop Proposals for 2024 Kansas Youth Leadership Forum - deadline extended

Submitted by Beth Hinshaw

Planning is underway for the 25th annual Kansas Youth Leadership Forum, November 23-24, 2024, at Rock Springs 4-H Ranch. This event, designed for youth ages 14-18, will include speakers, workshops, and the election of the 2025 Kansas 4-H Youth Leadership Council.

We are recruiting proposals for workshops. The Youth Council hopes you will be interested in sharing your expertise and talents through this opportunity. Workshops will be offered in two sessions on Saturday, November 23, 2024: 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. (session #1) and 3:15 - 4:15 p.m. (session #2).

Topics should center on leadership. Kansas 4-H focuses on helping young people find their SPARK and ignite their passion! Some ideas might include, but are not limited to professionalism, decision-making, career preparation, workplace skills, citizenship, character, communication, conflict management, ethics, motivation, initiatives, leading by example, time management, using your resources, goal setting, leadership after high school, getting involved, international citizenship, diversity and business etiquette. We are particularly looking for new and exciting lessons to give KYLF a fresh workshop selection.

Please consider offering the topic during both sessions on Saturday. Presentations that involve the audience have been the most effective in past years.

Proposal deadline has been extended to July 17 and the Youth Council will be reviewing proposals in late July. Selected presenters will be notified in August. Additional information will be sent to presenters prior to the Forum. ALL Proposals should be submitted online here. This is PDF of a letter and planning form that will help you know everything you need to fill out the online form. Please contact Beth Hinshaw with any questions at bhinshaw@ksu.edu.
