Thank You from the Kansas State Fair
Kansas 4-H is fortunate to have the dedication of amazing local Extension professionals, volunteers, and a state 4-H team that can come together to make a wonderful showcase of 4-H exhibits of our talented 4-H members at the 2024 Kansas State Fair! Thank you all for your time and talents to help make this possible!
We know there have been a few growing pains with the addition of the 4-H Showcase Building. Thank you for your flexibility as we worked through unanticipated issues. The addition of this building has provided us an opportunity to begin adding additional 4-H divisions and bring the static 4-H exhibits closer together. During the fair we have heard some wonderful comments about this addition.
I want to extend a special thanks to the Kansas 4-H Foundation for sponsoring the lunch again this year on Thursday before the fair for all the judges, superintendents, and volunteers. This allowed for everyone to take a break, but be able to jump back in to judging, tabulating, displaying exhibits, etc.
With the addition of air conditioning in 4-H Centennial Hall, we have seen people take their time going through the building and the foot traffic seems to be up. Thank you to the Kansas State Fair Board for the much-needed air conditioning in this building.
As we get ready to wrap up the Kansas State Fair, the new 4-H year will quickly be upon us. Let’s take a moment to reflect on why we chose this profession (or why this profession chose us). How can we be more intentional in bringing our why to the table in all we do? There is so much more for us to do to meet the needs of Kansans. Let’s grow and continue to help Kansas youth thrive in 2025.
