Academic Year Exchanges
This school year Kansas 4-H is host to two exchangees. Muhammadali (Misha) Baratov from Tajikistan is a senior at Belle Plaine High School under the Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) which is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and coordinated by States’ 4-H International Exchange Program (States’ 4-H). He is hosted by the Evan Watson and Angee Sisco. His local coordinator is Randy Hein, Sumner County ANR Agent. Mitsuki Sakuma is a junior at Ellsworth Junior senior High School and is part of the Labo organization in Japan and coordinated by States’ 4-H. She is hosted by Jim and Stephanie Zamrzla. Her local coordinator is Debbie Jacobs, a volunteer for the exchange. Both students will be sharing their cultures at school and with 4-H audiences.
Kansas has signed a commitment to host two students again next year. Please contact Mary Kay Munson, Academic Year Program Coordinator, with names of families who may be interested in hosting a student from Japan, South Korea, FLEX countries in Eurasia, China or Mexico, the countries/regions participating in next year’s States’ 4-H academic year exchanges .
