How are you promoting your volunteer opportunities? Or are you?
Kansas consistently ranks in the top ten for percentage of the population who volunteer. This year Kansas was 7th with over 33% of residents volunteering according to the Corporation for National and Community Service.
So, the volunteers are out there, how do you get them to volunteer with you? It can seem overwhelming to create and manage a comprehensive volunteer management and development plan. To simplify the process, break things down into smaller more manageable parts. For example, how are you marketing your volunteer opportunities? Using your existing base of parents and past parents is an excellent start! Still, your program could tap into so many more volunteers with expertise which could take your program to the next level. Listed below are a few places where you can start to promote targeted volunteer opportunities. Remember we first need to build awareness and interest before we can move volunteers to the level of ownership and personal responsibility.
