Youth Mental Health First Aid Trainings Available
K-State Research and Extension will be hosting Youth Mental Health First Aid trainings.
Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. This 8-hour training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them with the appropriate care. This particular training will focus on youth.
Hosting: Douglas County
Date: Thursday, May 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Location: Dreher Family 4-H Building, Douglas County Fairgrounds, 2110 Harper Street, Lawrence
Facilitator: Julia Gilmore Gaughan, Prevention and Education Mgr., Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center
Cost: $35 per person. The registration fee covers snacks, lunch and the program materials.
