Achieving the Extension Mission Through Volunteers: January 24 – March 14, 2022
On behalf of the North Central Region Volunteer Specialists, this professional development opportunity is for staff in all program areas/institutes who work with volunteers. Course is recommended for staff with at least one year of experience.
Registration opened September 15 nationwide and will close December 15. Space is limited. During this 7- week course, members participate in pre-recorded sessions, readings, activities and 3 live webinars, interact with a wide variety of resources and hear from experts. The course is led by a facilitator team. Each module will require approximately 4-6 hours each week.
Achieving the Extension Mission Through Volunteers: January 24 – March 14, 2022
- Designed to build staff and organizational capacity around volunteer management and development
- Targets extension professionals across all subject matter areas who work with volunteers to enhance and deliver Extension programs
- Cohort-based with 30-40 colleagues with two facilitators for each cohort. Course limit is 160 people
- Features webinars, Canvas modules and discussion boards with experts in the field.
- Register by December 15, 2021 - Cost $250 - Staff who are not from Minnesota need to create a Guest Account to register.

- Align recruitment with specific volunteer roles

And as a result of the course, staff are working differently with volunteers.
- Empowering volunteers to lead projects
- Recruiting others to deliver
- Including volunteers in setting program vision
- Delegating tasks so staff do not need to attend all activities
- Being comfortable letting other lead and teach.
