Kansas 4-H Shooting Sports Coordinator and Instructor Training – April 8-10
Spring 4-H Shooting Sports Training has been set for Friday – Sunday, April 8-10, 11 am until 3 pm, at Rock Springs 4-H Center, south of Junction City. Full time participation is necessary for meeting National Training requirements.
Interested volunteers and teens wanting to become junior apprentices are encouraged to register before April 1, no late registrations accepted. Volunteers and teens must be recommended by local extension unit (extension agent or coordinator) to participate and then will be given a link to register online. Additionally, volunteers are encouraged to have completed the Volunteer Screening process before attending Shooting Sports Training.
All disciplines will be offered once at least five people register in the individual specialties. The Shooting Sports disciplines include: Archery, Coordinator, Hunting Skills, Muzzle loading, Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, and Western Heritage/Cowboy Action.
Cost for the weekend training for Adults is $250 and Junior Apprentices is $150. Junior Apprentices are for youth ages 14- 20 before April 8, 2016 who have participated in and completed at least one year in the 4-H Shooting Sports project. The cost includes lodging, refreshments breaks, project material and meals. Participants are to bring his/her own bedding, towels and personal items.
